Coming Soon… Neighborhood Food Pantry @ Thriftique

We have been working toward having a true neighborhood/community food Pantry since we opened up Thriftique nearly one year ago. We are excited to announce that at our 1 year birth day in the month of March we will officially open the food pantry! The Neighborhood Pantry will operate during store hours opening at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday – Saturday closing at 5:00 p.m. Tue & Wed, 6:00 p.m. Thursday & Friday and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Special hours will be available on Sunday by request.

We are also pleased to continue our long friendship with the Food Pantry of Downers Grove. We are deeply committed to it’s success and we will continue to serve on the Board of Directors for the FISH Network who operates an excellent food pantry Monday’s 9:30 -11:00a.m. and Fridays 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. out of the township hall in Downers Grove.

You can help with our new Neighborhood Food Pantry by praying for this ministry as we reach out to many throughout our community who have recently found themselves unemployed, laid off or unable to find adequate work to provide a true living wage. In the metropolitan area that we live in we desire to discover way’s to creatively find solutions to the problems of homelessness, working poor and families that are in great need.

Please get involved by helping us spread the word our slogan is simple, direct and applies to everyone…

“Give a bag or Get a Bag”

Give – A – Bag - by dropping off your non-perishable food items at Thriftique 4725 Main St. in Downtown Lisle or by donating items at our church during service times. This is a tax-deductible gift therefore charitable gift receipts of a 501 C3 organization will be provided upon request.

Get- A- Bag – please help us get the word out to those that are in a season of need. The food Pantry is available to those that live in Lisle, do business in the city of Lise or are connected to our church or partner organizations of our Thriftique community. Name and contact information will be recorded on your first visit to the pantry prior to receiving the items. Items will be prepared and ready for pickup in bags and arranged by number of individuals in the respective household. All will find our food pantry to be a place of love, respect, community and given with dignity.

Please get involved with “Give or Get” and Give it our best effort to Get rid of poverty in our community.
